The Longest Day is a chameleon of an album. Over the course of writing and recording, it has seen myriad changes in line-ups, song versions, lyrics, song titles, tempos and even the album title itself.
The result however is something that we're all extremely proud of and feel is our best creation to date. We love the diversity that laces through it, songs with very different feels and broad influences that still embody everything that Rhombus is about, both sonically and lyrically.
With the restrictions placed on us by the pandemic meaning we couldn't be together when the album was recorded, it was always going to be challenging to make something that tied together perfectly. But this was never a problem thanks to both the sense of cameraderie in the Rhombus family, and of course the tireless efforts of our mixing and mastering team.
Over the past two years, we've all lived through our longest days. However this album is not full of regret for what we've lost in that time, but hope for a future where love is the answer. We hope you love it as much as we do.
